Abstract

This study is aimed for the implementation of RFID in the remanufacturing Auto part industry. In the automobile industry remanufacturing plays a very important role as it helps in product recovery and reuse. It is one of important factors
in the closed loop supply chain concept. In this paper we discuss about the problems in remanufacturing of automobile industry supply chain and how RFID implementation can solve these problems. The main motive to study how tagging a remanufactured auto part can benefit us economically with regards to the insurance and also in terms of the part safety. Radio Frequency Identification is a technology that can be used in various industries to track, identify, and locate different materials, parts, or items as long as the RFID tag is within the field of the reader’s antenna. Several manufacturing companies have difficulties in tracking the items they manufacture and for this reason the use of RFID has become popular and embraced within manufacturing companies.
