Abstract

Formation of ice during winter season on roads, bridges airway lanes etc. is a natural activity which must be prevented and monitored regularly. Formation of ice, termed as “Black Ice” on these surfaces have caused tremendous havoc and enormous irregularities with traffic. Black ice is a thin layer of ice formed on road surfaces in cold weather is a prime concern to cause car accidents. Bridges are the most dangerous surfaces to avoid as it freezes quickly during winter season. Black ice formation causes huge losses and damages to the government properties, human life etc. Governments in different nations are taking various precautionary measures for treatment and prevention of black ice. This project is focused on preventing black ice by using Internet of Things like blockchain technology along with sensors to detect black ice forming. RFID technology is also being implemented for further precautionary measures to prevent accidents, traffic control and other life-threatening activities.
